Bridgeway Concepts is seeking a Survey Technician to support our growing portfolio of civil and infrastructure projects. This role works closely with the Construction Manager and provides essential support to our project and drafting teams.
Membership with the Geospatial Council of Australia is highly encouraged.
Experience with Topcon and Leica surveying instruments—as well as GPS and RTK systems—is highly valued. Familiarity with ArcGIS is beneficial but not essential.
About the Role
As a Survey Technician, you will assist in delivering accurate survey data and site information for a wide range of construction activities. You will work both on-site and in-office, supporting project planning, design verification, quality inspections and data preparation.
The position is primarily based in Adelaide metro, however might require travel to regional South Australia as well.
Key Responsibilities
* Support Construction Managers, engineers and surveyors in organising and coordinating survey activities across multiple projects.
* Interpret drawings, plans, permits and relevant industry codes to ensure accurate site execution.
* Prepare and refine sketches, initial layouts, survey plans and technical documentation for internal and external use.
* Draft, revise and update maps, charts and spatial data to support design and construction activities.
* Help schedule survey tasks and coordinate workflow with site teams and subcontractors.
* Inspect site works, levels and materials to ensure they align with project specifications and standards.
* Assist in calculating project quantities, resource needs, timelines and site progress metrics.
* Use survey equipment—including GPS, RTK, total stations and photogrammetric tools—to collect reliable field data.
* Perform basic survey computations, process field results and generate preliminary data for CAD drafting and project reporting.
Skills & Experience
* Qualification in Surveying, Spatial Science, Civil Engineering Technology or similar (preferred).
* Experience using Topcon and/or Leica survey equipment (highly regarded).
* Understanding of GPS, RTK and modern survey workflows.
* Experience with ArcGIS (advantageous but not mandatory).
* Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
* Solid communication skills and attention to detail in both field and office settings.
* Current driver's licence.
* Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a project team.
