About the Role
Chiesi Australia currently has a newly created opportunity for an experienced Medical Science Liaison to join our AIR/CARE team based in Brisbane or Gold Coast. The MSL will cover QLD/WA/NT and is a 24‐month contract. The role reports directly to the Senior Medical Manager – AIR/CARE and provides field‐based non‐promotional medical and scientific support on behalf of the Company.
Main Responsibilities
* This is a field‐based (at least 80%) Medical Affairs role with the aim of providing high quality, accurate and timely scientific support, to HCPs related to the Company's products and/or associated disease area(s).
* Maintain relevant and up-to-date knowledge of the therapeutic landscape and the Company's clinical development program to maintain the role as an internal expert medical resource.
* Support commercial colleagues in formulary applications, answering queries regarding clinical development plans and support ad‐hoc projects like audits, guidelines development and medical education seminars.
* Identify and develop professional relationships with KOLs and HCPs; promote collaboration with the health care community, in dedicated therapeutic area(s).
* Provide KOLs and researchers scientific information in accordance to the Medicines Australia Code of Conduct and company Australia SOPs for MSL engagement standards and establish long term relationships working in specific therapeutic fields.
* Conduct scientific pre‐launch‐activities and provide training to field‐force.
* Increase scientific knowledge in the community of products by conducting Advisory Boards.
* Gather competitive intelligence from the field by representing Chiesi Australia at national and international scientific events, symposiums and congresses.
* Report insights generated from HCPs on scientific issues (product related) and the development of relevant therapeutic and disease area(s).
* Systematically gather, synthesize and communicate actionable medical insights with stronger use of digital tools and analytics to generate timely, actionable insights that inform strategy, prioritisation and decision making.
* Demonstrate capability to operate effectively across multiple engagement models—integrating in person, digital and virtual channels—to deliver consistent, compliant and meaningful scientific engagement that meets evolving healthcare professional expectations.
* Strengthen the ability to think strategically across functions, linking digital capability, scientific insight and evidence generation to broader organisational objectives, and working collaboratively to deliver outcomes that support collective success.
* Support Market Access colleagues in conducting scientific training to decision makers (ad‐hoc).
* Support local and international Company sponsored trials/studies.
* Work with KOLs to facilitate requests for Investigator Initiated Trials/Studies (IIT/IIS) in line with Company SOPs.
* Contribute to real world evidence (RWE) and post marketing data generation activities through scientific exchange, feasibility support and interpretation of emerging evidence.
* Active contribution to Corporate projects.
Experience Required
* A medical degree or an advanced degree in Health Science (such as Pharmacy, Nursing, Physiotherapy) or Life Sciences with post‐graduate qualifications (Honours, Masters or PhD).
* At least 3 years pharmaceutical industry experience; ideally in relevant therapeutic area and in a customer‐facing role. Previous MSL experience preferred.
* Relevant medicine background strongly preferred.
* Strong understanding of Medical Affairs and experience within the pharmaceutical industry.
* Completed Medicines Australia Code of Conduct training.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
* Proficient in English verbal and written.
* Demonstrated capability or strong aptitude in the use of digital engagement platforms, CRM systems and data enabled tools to support scientific exchange and insight generation.
* Willing to travel domestically (at least 80% field based) with some international travel.
