About the role
As a Financial Counsellor you will provide financial counselling for people in financial difficulty or hardship, or who wish to avoid such situations. You will develop and implement community member‐centred case plans, design options that alleviate financial hardship, improve mental health and personal wellbeing. You will report to the Team Leader in this permanent, full‐time position based in Karratha, WA. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Award, Level 5.

What you will bring
* Diploma of Financial Counselling and accreditation with a state‐based recognised financial counselling association.
* Experience working with people who may not have English as a first language.
* Knowledge of local Aboriginal communities and culture.
* Ability to meet deadlines and work under conflicting time pressures.
* Demonstrated skills in working with different cultures and backgrounds.
* Money management and negotiation skills.
* Experience working with people suffering difficulties and crisis.
* A national police record check is required.
* A relevant state Working With Children Check is required.
* Current driver's licence if travel is required.
* Availability for some intrastate travel associated with outreach service.
