**Position Overview**
Responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining Council’s asset management strategies and
accompanying plans and policies supported by best practice strategies, plans, processes, and systems to
improve asset management competency across the organisation and to support an integrated, holistic and
strategic framework for asset management for Council.
This position is accountable for the provision of leadership, development and mentorship to the Assets team
that promotes high quality customer service and the delivery of optimal asset management services that fulfills
Council’s legislative, service levels and community expectations.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Leadership and People Management**
of technical expertise achieves quality service delivery outcomes and is aligned with Council’s core

- Lead a high-performance work team, focusing on streamlined and productive operations delivery aligned
to strategic programs, departmental and organisational objectives.
- Implement and drive operational action plans and drive the achievement of these through the utilisation
of available resources in order to reach outcomes, achieve key activities and deliver projects on time and
on budget.
- Advocate as an asset management professional influencing and managing stakeholder relationships
whilst providing specialist advice and information on emerging issues that may impact continuous
improvement and compliance activity.
- Lead the Assets and Infrastructure Business Unit with transparency and clarity by setting clear expectations
regarding work priorities and Directorate and organisational goals.
- Ensure the effective and efficient day to day management and operation of the Assets and Infrastructure
Business Unit and all associated functions using best practice and inspiring leadership skills to ensure
engaged and motivated staff, organisational values-aligned staff behaviour and the optimal delivery of
key Asset projects and outcomes.
- Enhance the employee experience through the provision of meaningful and tailored career development,
structured performance partnering, effective day to day management, coaching and mentoring.
- Foster a constructive team culture by supporting and supervising team members to work collaboratively
across the organisation.
- Ensure all day to day activity pertaining to people management is undertaken efficiently and effectively
including the management of relevant documentation, time sheets, payroll matters, leave requests and
other processes.
- Ensure the Assets Management Business Unit holds up to date knowledge of legislative requirements and
industry best practice.
- Contribute towards best practice in accordance with relevant legislation, Council policies, processes,
internal controls and agreed strategic direction as it relates to the department.
