About the role

As part of CCQ's Cancer Counselling Service, our psychologists deliver telehealth and face‑to‑face evidence‑based counselling interventions to people affected by cancer and their families and contribute to programs to promote the psychological adjustment of people affected by cancer.

This role is a part‑time, permanent position (22.5 hours per week) and can be based out of our Cairns, Rockhampton or Toowoomba Lodge.


About you

To be successful in this role you will bring:

* Registration as a psychologist with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Authority (AHPRA)
* Experience in clinical or counselling psychology, preferably in oncology.
* Skills in the delivery of evidence‑based telephone and/or face‑to‑face psychological interventions
* Be eligible for a Medicare Provider
* An understanding of the psychosocial impact of cancer on individuals, partners and families, as well as experience or training focused in the area of bereavement, grief and loss is highly valued
* Postgraduate tertiary qualification in psychology is desirable but not essential.
