The Role
As a Field Service Technician, you’ll be part of a dedicated team delivering installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair services for underground and surface mining operations. This role is hands-on, dynamic, and essential to keeping our customers’ operations running safely and efficiently.
Your Role Will Include
* Perform installation, inspection, testing, and maintenance of electrical equipment in compliance with AS/NZS 3800 and AS 2290 standards.
* Support longwall relocations, conveyor systems, and specialised underground mining equipment.
* Execute upgrades and repairs both onsite and in Ampcontrol workshops (if required).
* Act as a key channel for identifying and funnelling follow-on work to Ampcontrol workshops for overhauls, repairs, and upgrades, ensuring seamless coordination between onsite service and workshop teams.
* Apply Ampcontrol’s ISTEP isolation procedure for high-voltage apparatus to ensure safety.
* Complete detailed service reports, risk assessments, and documentation (SWMS, JSA, SARs).
* Collaborate with engineering teams and customers to deliver tailored solutions.
* Participate in 24/7 emergency support roster when required.

About You
* Electrical trade qualification (essential).
* Understanding of AS3800 & AS2290.
* High-voltage switching and testing experience (desired).
* Strong commitment to safety and compliance.
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team in challenging environments.
* Willingness to travel and work flexible rosters.
