Commercial Leadership Role
The Commercial Director will lead the commercial strategy, building strong partnerships and driving growth across South Australia's business and community networks.
* Drive Business Growth: The role requires leadership of the club's commercial strategy to achieve sustainable revenue growth across sponsorships, partnerships, and new income streams.
* Establish High-Value Partnerships: Grow and manage a strong commercial pipeline, securing new deals and maximising value from existing relationships.
* Innovate and Create Impact: Design innovative, market-leading activations and partnership models, from digital monetisation to community-led initiatives.
* Engage Community & Government Stakeholders: Strengthen ties with corporate partners, government bodies, and the community to unlock funding and collaboration opportunities.
* Lead and Empower the Team: Inspire the Commercial team and wider club to embrace a commercial mindset and deliver outstanding partner experiences.
* Ensure Excellence in Delivery: Oversee seamless activation of all commercial agreements, exceeding partner expectations.
* Provide Strategic Insights: Deliver timely, data-driven reporting to inform club leadership and identify growth opportunities.
* Champion Continuous Improvement: Keep AUFC ahead of market trends, maintaining our position as the club of choice for commercial partnerships.
Skill and experience required:
* Senior leadership experience (7–10 years+) in commercial, partnership, or business development roles.
* Well-established network across Adelaide and South Australia's business community, including large enterprises and SMEs.
* Track record of driving revenue growth and managing high-value partnerships.
* Resilience and focus, with the ability to maintain momentum towards ambitious targets in a fast-paced environment.
* Entrepreneurial mindset, combined with strong commercial acumen and financial literacy.
* Outstanding relationship management, communication, time management, and negotiation skills.
* Experience working in organisations reliant on sponsorship and partnerships as core revenue streams — ideally in sport, events, or purpose-led sectors.
