About the Department Renal Medicine is part of the Alfred Health Specialty Medicine program. The service provides a broad range of care across all aspects of general renal medicine (including acute and chronic kidney disease), dialysis and kidney transplantation. The Renal team of doctors, specialist nursing and allied health staff provide inpatient care (general, transplant and consult ward service), outpatient clinics, home dialysis, satellite dialysis (Caulfield and Sandringham campuses), and kidney transplantation. The service is also the hub for spoke dialysis services across the Frankston and Mornington Peninsula region. Education, research and quality improvement are fundamental components of the service's commitment to excellent patient-focused care.
