My client is a Brisbane based FMCG manufacturing business. The company has an enviable reputation for quality products and state of the art manufacturing. They are a small, energetic, quality focused and fun team poised for further growth, and they are looking for a proactive, hands-on Demand Planner / Production Scheduler to join their team.
Based in Brisbane and reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible for optimising the inventory levels and product availability. Your duties will include managing and improving the demand forecasting activities, collaborating with sales, marketing, and finance teams, and ensuring effective inventory management. The successful candidate will be able to improve their demand forecast accuracy, identify potential supply and demand issues, and devise ways to minimize stock shortages.
(The production schedules are currently being planned within the production area. It is intended these roles will transition to this role, enabling the production staff to transition to other duties.)
Key duties will include:
* Promote and demonstrate the WH&S Policies, culture, values and mission.
* Maintain the demand plan out to 26 weeks in conjunction with the Head of Sales
* Transition the production schedules for wet & dry areas away from existing resources to this role
* Analyse and interpret demand patterns and their implications.
* Prepare and maintain relevant reports pertaining to the demand planning process.
* Change management
* Inventory management and forecasting
* Address demand-related issues in a timely and effective manner.
* Monitoring the accuracy of inventory levels at warehouses to ensure supply meets demand.
* Support the Supply Chain Manager and work to create a streamline process between departments.
Master data in ERP
* Creating long-term and short–term production schedules.
* Communicating forecast and inventory estimations.
* Providing input into the financial planning process through demand insights and analysis.
* Working closely with supply chain and operations to align demand forecasts with production and inventory strategies.
Ideally you will have the following work experience, skills, and personal qualities:
* Demand planning, schedule planning, forecasting
* Minimum of 5 years Demand/Supply planning experience (particularly in an FMCG/Retail environment
* The ability to plan with precision and great attention to detail; noticing when we are getting off-track and proactively putting corrective actions in place.
* You have a sense of urgency.
* Multitasking and prioritising in a fast paced and changing food manufacturing environment
* Ability to build rapport and maintain effective relationships through application of communication and interpersonal skills.
* Inventory management/optimisation experience within a manufacturing/supply chain environment
* Issue investigation and resolution skills
* Strong analytical skills with a high attention to detail and demonstrated computer literacy and software skills to complete required tasks (Microsoft Office, BI, ERP System (JDE or similar)
