The City of Karratha is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Treasury Officer to manage our treasury functions, including overseeing the City's investment portfolio and reserves. This key role will contribute to the effective financial management of the City's operations, ensuring sound financial practices, and providing essential support across the finance department.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the City's Treasury function, including investments, loans, and reserves.
* Ensure accurate reconciliation of restricted reserves.
* Oversee daily receipting and balance municipal and trust finances.
* Assist with internal and external audits, implementing recommendations.
* Prepare financial reports for Councillors, City staff, and external stakeholders.
* Provide support to the Chief Financial Officer and other finance team members in various functions, including budgeting and financial reporting.
* Maintain and update financial processes to ensure compliance.
Skills & Experience:
* Demonstrated experience in treasury and accounts receivable functions.
* Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software.
* Ability to work autonomously while following established procedures.
* Excellent problem-solving skills, time management, and attention to detail.
Qualifications:
* Relevant tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (desirable).
* Experience in a similar role, particularly in treasury and revenue management.
* Current C Class Driver's License.
* National Police Certificate (no more than 6 months old).
