We’re looking for an experienced Plumber who wants more than just day-to-day service calls. If you’re ready to use your hands-on trade knowledge while stepping into a role that mixes technical work with project coordination, this is your opportunity. In this role, you’ll still be actively working on Plumbing systems, but you’ll also be the key point of contact on-site – helping manage minor works, coordinate contractors, solve technical issues, and ensure facilities are performing at their best. Your Plumbing trade is the most important qualification. Experience in other non-licensed areas or small-scale project work is a bonus – but UQ will provide support and training to help you grow Key responsibilities will include: Deliver and coordinate plumbing maintenance, repairs, and minor works across the precinct. Act as the main client contact, managing requests and ensuring minimal disruption to operations. Supervise contractors, source quotes, and oversee works to meet safety, quality, budget and timeframes. Inspect and monitor building assets and systems, log jobs, and maintain accurate records. Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory and UQ safety requirements. Support continuous improvement and contribute to a safe, efficient facilities environment. A Gas Fitters License would be looked on favourably but is not essential. Trade qualifications in plumbing and must have QBCC plumbing license with extensive maintenance experience. Experience in roof and drainage systems Current open Queensland Driver's Licence. Proven knowledge of building services Basic computer skills. Be available to take part in an after-hours on call roster. Strong understanding of WHS and environmental legislation, codes and standards. Problem-solving skills with the ability to manage diverse maintenance issues effectively. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build strong, trusted relationships. A willingness to learn Building services that include. building reticulated water, Mechanical HVAC plant, Mechanical HVAC electrical and minor lighting and power, chilled water, compressed air/vacuum, fume cupboards and building management systems. A desire to grow and learn project and contract management within building maintenance services. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong desire for professional growth and a commitment to learning a wide range of building and maintenance systems.
