This is a Permanent Part Time appointment at 45.6 hours per fortnight.

We are seeking to appoint a suitably enthuastic and experienced person to the role of Pastoral Care Chaplain. In this position, you will be responsible for the administration, direction, management and performance of the pastoral care services in delivering a compassionate, professional and spiritual ministry to all patients, family and staff at the Peel Health Campus.

As a Pastoral Care Chaplain, you will support patients, carers and healthcare workers when needed and particularly at times of crisis. Your empathy, life experience, and professional frameworks will guide your response to individual needs, recognising different values, beliefs and faith backgrounds, without agenda.

Recognising the importance of spiritual care within our holistic approach to health and wellbeing, you will be flexible in adapting your style from being a listening ear, through to assisting the larger multi-disciplinary team providing patient-care. Your professional experience will help you to balance challenging moments with celebrating positive health progress.

Peel Health Campus is a general hospital located in the City of Mandurah, 75 km south of Perth on the doorstep of the south-west, known for its stunning beaches, internationally significant wetlands, and some of Australia's most spectacular waterways for boating, fishing and wildlife. It originally opened in 1988 as the 32-bed Mandurah District Hospital, and now operates with 206 licenced beds, bays and treatment areas. Transitioning the hospital to public hands paves the way for the hospital's redevelopment and service transformation to meet the needs of the Peel-Murray region.

Eligibility

Are you eligible? To be eligible for appointment, applicants must have a valid working visa (for fixed term appointments) or be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia (for permanent appointments).

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the health service. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.
