Senior Public Art Specialist

This is a challenging and rewarding role for an experienced public art professional who wants to make a difference in Western Australian communities.

Job Overview

As a Senior Public Art Specialist, you will play a key role in delivering cultural experiences that support artists, communities, and project partners across Western Australia. You will be responsible for developing and executing major multi-year project and program strategies, creating and overseeing detailed plans for projects and programs, and developing strategic partnerships that enhance cultural artistic and financial value.

Responsibilities

1. Develop and execute major multi-year project and program strategies to deliver cultural experiences that support artists, communities, and project partners across Western Australia.
2. Create and oversee detailed plans for projects and programs, including risk management, budgets, communication, logistics, team coordination, and community engagement.
3. Develop strategic partnerships that enhance cultural artistic and financial value, foster strong working relationships between clients, artists, and community members, and ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
4. Demonstrate expertise in managing large-scale cultural tourism projects, including planning, logistics, budgeting, risk management, and securing funding, while maintaining a deep understanding of cultural tourism, contemporary art management, and cultural sensitivity with a focus on Indigenous cultures, heritage sites, and community engagement.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

* Tertiary qualification in arts management, tourism, urban planning, or a related discipline;
* At least two years of experience in managing major cultural tourism projects and/or in the hospitality industry;
* Current or ability to obtain a Working With Children Check;
* Current (within one month) or ability to obtain a National Police Clearance;
* Current and unrestricted C-Class Drivers Licence;
* Ability to travel within Western Australia and/or interstate when required.
