About the role
Mater Private Hospital Mackay is looking for an experienced, motivated Endorsed Enrolled Nurse to join our Day Surgery Unit. The position is a permanent part‐time role, 32 hours per week.
Mater Private Hospital Mackay has been providing excellence in clinical and pastoral care to the people of Mackay and surrounds since 1927. Located on the northern bank of the Pioneer River, our hospital is a modern 105‐bed facility featuring five operating theatres and a fully equipped day surgery unit.
Key duties and responsibilities
* Carry out comprehensive and accurate nursing assessments of patients using a structured approach
* Within the scope of practice, implement planned evidence‐based nursing interventions
* Act as a patient advocate ensuring patients are informed and consent is obtained prior to procedures
* Contribute to maintaining an environment that promotes safety, security and personal integrity of patients and groups
* Maintain and adhere to Infection Control policies and practices
* Comply with organisational policies, procedures, work instructions and guidelines
* Ensure confidentiality of corporate and patient information
About you / Qualifications
* Current AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse (no restrictions)
* Recent nursing experience in an acute hospital setting (at least 1‐year post‐graduate experience)
* Previous experience within pre‐ and post‐operative nursing care in an acute setting (highly desirable)
* Advanced interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to liaise with a variety of stakeholders at various levels
* Ability to work well autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team
