About the role
Reporting in the first instance to your State Manager, Store Managers are responsible for managing the day-to-day operation of the store, as well as setting customer service standards, and launching initiatives to hit sales targets. Store Managers need to develop and motivate a team, whilst ensuring everyone adheres to company policies and procedures.
Working as part of an enthusiastic team, the role of a Store Manager is to deliver high-quality customer service and outstanding product knowledge.
The Store Manager is responsible overall for every aspect of general shop maintenance and stock merchandising while promoting and enhancing the positive image and culture of July.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee all aspects of the shop's operation: Ensure that every function is performed to the highest standard, providing clear direction and setting an example for staff to follow. This also includes daily opening and closing procedures.
* Onboard, train, supervise, and evaluate staff: Foster a high-performing team culture by managing, motivating, and mentoring staff. Provide training for staff to ensure they have the skills needed to perform their roles effectively.
* Implement and maintain high customer service standards: Handle customer complaints and queries promptly and professionally. Set high standards for customer service and ensure these are consistently met.
* Conduct regular shop audits: Oversee inventory levels, order supplies, and liaise with head office as necessary. This includes responsibility for stock management and performing regular stocktakes.
* Execute in-store events and promotions in conjunction with the marketing team: Ensure team is aware of any promotions and effectively communicating it to customers
* Ensure the shop layout is maintained to a high standard: Focus on visual merchandising and product placement while maintaining high standards of store presentation.
* Work with other stores in a positive and professional manner: Collaborate effectively with other stores, sharing insights and learning from each other to help improve the overall business.
* Uphold July’s positive reputation and culture: Ensure the store upholds the company's values, mission, and brand reputation at all times. Encourage staff to embody these values in their interactions with customers.
* Deal with staff performance and discipline in accordance with the July Company Policy: Manage any performance or disciplinary issues among staff, following the company's policies and procedures.
Requirements
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to deal with diverse customers and team members.
* Strategic mindset with an ability to analyse sales data and Kepler data
* Comprehensive knowledge of retail management best practices.
* Understanding of advanced sales principles and customer service practices.
* Proficiency in Shopify systems.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and remain calm under pressure.
* Outstanding problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to resolving issues.
* Commitment to exceptional customer service, including the ability to inspire the same in others.
