Mental Health Professional - Continuing Care Team

Delivering recovery-focused, culturally safe mental health care in the community.

* Employment Type : Permanent Part Time

* Remuneration : $74,317.94 - $138,482 per annum + superannuation

Where you'll be working

The Manning Mental Health Service (MHS) provides specialist psychiatric community intervention for adults across Taree, Forster, Gloucester and Bulahdelah. We deliver comprehensive assessment, treatment, care coordination and referral pathways for consumers and their families. The service supports people with a range of mental health needs, including specialist areas such as perinatal mental health and eating disorders. We offer brief intervention, acute and rehabilitation care coordination, and recovery-focused group programmes, underpinned by trauma-informed and person-centred practice.


What You'll Be Doing

As a Mental Health Clinician, you will provide high-quality specialist mental health assessment and care to consumers and their families in a community setting. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will deliver holistic, recovery-focused interventions that promote optimal outcomes. This role has a particular focus on engaging Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in care coordination delivery, ensuring services are culturally competent, inclusive and responsive, while also engaging non-Aboriginal consumers.

You are a skilled and compassionate mental health clinician with a strong commitment to recovery-oriented and trauma-informed practice. You value culturally safe care and have experience supporting Aboriginal people and their families to make informed decisions about their mental health care.


You Will Bring

* Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and its application in mental health practice with consumers and their families/carers
* Ability to independently problem-solve and maintain professional and ethical boundaries within complex, multidisciplinary environments
* Well-developed recovery-focused written and interpersonal communication skills
* Ability to engage and support Aboriginal people and their families in a culturally safe manner, promoting understanding of clinical care and service processes

Requirements

* Must hold a qualification in one of the following: Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, Nursing, Counsellor (Degree in Bachelor of Health Science Mental Health, Djirruwang Program) which provides eligibility or membership of the relevant professional association / provisional or general registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Eligibility to drive in NSW and willingness to travel for work purposes which may involve driving long distances.
