We are expanding our Brisbane based Sensor Maintenance Team and looking for a skilled technician with electronic or communications experience who takes pride in quality work enjoys variety and values being part of a supportive high performing team.
The Role
As a Sensor Maintenance Technician, you will carry out preventative and corrective maintenance repair and testing of maritime sensor and command and control systems as well as take part in the development and roll out of new systems in adhoc project or upgrade works.
You will work across depot, field and remote environments to ensure our systems stay reliable and operational supporting Australia's busiest ports and maritime authorities.
Key responsibilities include:
* Maintenance and repair of radar, AIS, VHF, UHF and microwave radio systems, high end CCTV systems integrated into command and control (including voice) systems
* Diagnosing and resolving faults, remotely and onsite, efficiently including participation in an on-call roster
* Building, configuring, calibrating and testing systems before deployment
* Maintaining accurate service reports and configuration records
* Supporting installation and commissioning of new systems
* Maintaining high standards of safety quality and documentation
About You
You are a hands-on technician who enjoys solving problems working outdoors and keeping complex systems running at their best.
You may come from telecommunications fibre or copper networks RF communications, defence, resources, utilities, broadcast or similar technical environments. If you have strong diagnostic ability and experience with electronic or communications infrastructure, we can train you in the maritime sensor domain.
You will bring:
* Trade qualifications and practical experience in electrical / electronics communications or related technical fields.
* Experience working on complex electronic communications or signalling systems. Telecommunications radio fibre or copper networks broadcast defence utilities or industrial equipment experience are all welcome.
* Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills across electronic or communications systems.
* A focus on safety documentation and teamwork
* Clear communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently across teams and client sites.
* Flexibility to travel to regional or remote sites and take part in an on-call roster.
* Ability to work in small teams at remote locations.
* Confidence to work at heights up to 50 metres once training is completed
Preferred but not essential:
* Experience with radar, AIS, VHF, UHF and microwave radio systems, high end CCTV systems integrated into command and control (including voice) systems.

Licences and Certifications
The successful candidate will hold or can obtain:
* Open driver's licence
* First Aid CPR LVR
* Work at Heights and Tower Rescue
* Restricted Electrical Licence
* ACMA cabling licence or telecommunications certifications highly regarded
