Position
This is a joint appointment between Bendigo Health and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. The incumbent will work four days per week at the public hospital and one day per week at Peter MacInson. The role provides comprehensive haematology care to the region and supports the regional arm of the Peter Mac haematology service.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
* Provide high‐quality integrated assessment and care of patients with haematologic conditions.
* Participate in the Ward Service roster including on‐call/recall as required.
* Participate in and initiate clinical trials; continuously review and improve quality processes and protocols.
* Attend outpatient clinics as rostered and provide outreach clinics as directed by the strategic plan.
* Actively and regularly participate in peer review patient‐related activities and Quality Assurance activities.
* Mentor and provide education to the Haematology Registrar and junior medical staff.
* Assist in the ongoing development of relevant quality activities, including accreditation standards and Clinical Indicator Programs.
* Contribute to the development of policies and protocols for the delivery of haematology services.
* Liaise with the Director of Oncology and Bendigo Health management regarding service development and strategic planning.
* Work with the Oncology Management team to enhance service provisions from the cancer centre to subregional hospitals, focusing on governance.

Key Selection Criteria
* Essential
o Medical qualifications registrable by AHPRA.
o Post‐graduate qualifications (FRACP) in internal medicine and haematology or equivalent.
o Substantial experience managing and treating patients with a wide range of haematological conditions.
o Experience conducting clinical research.
o Experience in medical education at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
o Ability to provide leadership in a multidisciplinary team setting.
o Good understanding of the public health system and oncology service delivery requirements.
* Desirable
o Demonstrably superior interpersonal and negotiation skills.
o Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and independently.
o Demonstrated participation in audit and audit feedback cycles.
o Evidence of ongoing professional development to continually update medical knowledge and skills.
