In this r ole, you'll:
Perform construction, maintenance, repairs and modifications of traffic signals and other intelligent traffic systems in accordance with current specifications and instructions.
The Traffic Signals Technician will also be responsible for: • Performing preventative maintenance and functional checks of intelligent traffic systems and associated equipment as per the tasks in the checklist to prevent frequent failures and faults and ensure the smooth operation of traffic control systems at intersections, through tunnels and on open road.
• Repairing faults and accident damage as they occur to ensure smooth operation of intelligent traffic systems.
• Undertaking programmed work to ensure that TfNSW specifications are met and client satisfaction is maintained.
• Leading staff and subcontractors at site to ensure that work is performed in a safe and timely manner.
• Adhering to TfNSW specifications to ensure compliance with standards while carrying out minor construction or reconstruction of traffic signals and other intelligent traffic systems.
• Assisting the Traffic Systems Supervisor/Leading Technicians in carrying out duties associated with traffic systems maintenance as required.
This is an ongoing full-time role located at Waratah.
TfNSW take the WH&S and the management of fatigue of our employees seriously therefore to be eligible for this role it is a requirement that you must reside within a reasonable distance from the Waratah Depot.
You are a qualified Electrical Contractor with a current qualified Electrical Contractor Licence.
You have experience in the calibration or testing of electronic equipment and experience in troubleshooting the root cause of faults.
You have experience in responding to high level technical requests, ensuring all faults are promptly identified and repaired within a reasonable time frame to minimise traffic disruption to the general public.
You are an effective communicator who can provide assistance and support to your colleagues, sharing information with them and providing input on issues.
You possess a current and valid Australian motor vehicle driver license and willingness to work outside normal working hours and to travel on occasions.
The Section provides a 24-hour emergency response and the successful applicant will be required to undertake rostered callout duties to any site to repair faults within specified response times (currently minimum two hours).
Any experience with the use of the Asset Vision system will be highly regarded.
