Your Opportunity
As a Recovery Worker at Woree Supported Housing Accommodation, you will provide individualised support and intensive case management to adults transitioning from Douglas House or other temporary accommodation into supported housing. Working within a recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, strengths-based and culturally responsive framework, you will help clients build independence, wellbeing, and community integration. The role involves flexible, client-focused support tailored to individual needs and goals, assisting residents to successfully transition from high-support settings to living independently. Woree Supported Housing accommodates up to 20 adults for periods of up to 18 months, offering a vital step-down service from chronic homelessness into sustainable housing.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
* Provide intensive case management, working with clients to develop case plans and set goals.
* Advocate for clients with Government and non-Government organisations.
* Support clients to transition out of the program and maintain stable, long-term tenancies.
* Deliver support in a recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, strengths-based and culturally responsive way.
* Build positive, professional relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
* Ensure administration, documentation, case notes, and reports are completed accurately and on time.
Requirements for Success
* Relevant tertiary qualifications in Community Services or AOD, or Associate Diploma or Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or equivalent experience.
* Experience in intensive case management with clients experiencing homelessness or complex needs.
* Ability to provide trauma-informed, strengths-based, culturally appropriate support.
* Strong advocacy, communication, and relationship-building skills.
* Excellent organisation, time management, and administration skills.
* Hold a Current QLD full Driver's Licence and willingness to obtain a First Aid Certificate.
Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
