The Opportunity
The Venture Capital & Tech M&A team sits within Ashurst's Corporate Transaction team and has the leading legal practice advising high growth companies raising funds and venture capital funds and corporate investors making investments in these companies. The team also advises on mergers and acquisitions and IPOs within the tech sector.
Ashurst's broader Corporate Transactions team works on a wide range of corporate transactions including takeovers, schemes of arrangements, asset acquisitions, restructuring and joint venture arrangements. The client base includes a number of Australia's leading ASX listed corporate, domestic and foreign PE funds and global corporate and investment companies.

Qualifications
* 5+ years' corporate experience gained within a top-tier firm, mid-tier or by a combination of private practice and in-house
* Ideally venture capital and/or fundraising and M&A experience (or have a keen interest in the venture capital and tech sector)
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Confident and effective in negotiations with clients and counterparties
* Strong technical proficiency and superior drafting ability
* A commercial approach and an ability to articulate and negotiate effectively
* Strong attention to detail with well-developed analytical skills
* The ability to be team-focused as a dynamic team player and also work independently
* A proactive, positive and energetic approach with a commitment to providing excellent service and a desire to interact with the market and build client relationships
