Overview
Are you an organised, proactive HR professional with a flair for compliance and people support? We're looking for an HR & Compliance Co-Ordinator to join our team on a temporary basis (6–12 months), with potential for a permanent opportunity .
This is a varied and rewarding full-time role (8am–4pm, flexible hours) where you'll be at the centre of recruitment, onboarding, mentoring, compliance, and HR operations.
Responsibilities
Recruitment & Onboarding
* Post job ads and manage candidate screening
* Coordinate interviews and background checks
* Prepare offer letters and onboard new starters
* Set up workstations, emails, and ensure smooth Day 1 experience
* Provide training and mentoring to administrative staff
* Act as the go-to for HR support and guidance
* Assist with professional development planning
Compliance & Records
* Maintain employee files, contracts, and certifications
* Ensure compliance with RIW (Rail Industry Worker) requirements
* Manage general compliance and support audits
* Onboard vendors and maintain contracts
* Manage insurance documentation and liaise with brokers
* Monitor contractual and insurance compliance
Employee Relations & HR Support
* Assist with complaints, grievances, and performance management
* Support disciplinary and exit processes
* Coordinate offboarding and provide documentation
Quality, Health, Safety & Environment (QHSE)
* Support QHSE training and wellbeing initiatives
* Assist with incident reporting and audit preparation
Qualifications
Essential:
* Relevant HR or compliance certification
* Experience in HR or compliance support roles
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* Understanding of employment law and HR best practices
* Proficiency with HR systems and Microsoft Office
* Ability to manage confidential information discreetly
* Familiarity with the RIW system or willingness to learn
Desirable:
* Experience in rail or construction industries
* Knowledge of Edge Rail Solutions' compliance systems
* Advanced HR qualifications (e.g. SHRM-SCP, CIPD)
* Interest in further professional development
