The Role
ABCMid West& Wheatbelt is seeking a Program Maker to produce and present high-quality local content across radio, digital and social platforms. You'll work closely with our editorial team to create original storytelling that aligns with ABC strategy and supports the broader objectives of ABC News.
Based in Geraldton, this role offers the opportunity to build strong local connections, break important stories and help shape the conversation across the region and beyond.
The Job
* Produce, present and publish compelling content across multiple platforms to engage local and national audiences.
* Prepare and present distinct local content, including interviews, Q&As, scripts, packages and breaking news.
* Provide in-studio production support, including managing talkback callers, guests and live segments.
* Source, develop and share local stories with other ABC content teams.
* Contribute to emergency broadcasting in line with the Local Emergency Coverage plan.
* Actively engage with communities to uncover stories that reflect Australia's cultural, geographic and social diversity.
* Work early morning shifts, including a 5:30am start, to support the daily production of the Breakfast program.
