The opportunity
As a Manager ranked Platform Engineerspecialisingin cloud-based data platforms, you will design,buildand implement scalable data environments that support advanced analytics and geospatial (GIS) capabilities. Working closely with data engineers, architects, and business stakeholders, you will play a key role in enabling robust,secureand high-performing platforms that drive business outcomes. You will bring experience across modern cloud ecosystems and will contribute to the design and operation of data platforms, with a strong emphasis on geospatial data integration and management. You will also support team delivery,providingtechnical leadership and guidance whererequired.
In line with client requirements this role is based in ourBoorloo – Perth, Australia office.

Your key responsibilities
* Design, build andmaintainscalable cloud-based data platforms across Azure,AWSor GCP
* Develop andoptimisedata platform architectures to support large-scale,complexand geospatial datasets
* Implement data ingestion,processingand storage solutions for structured, unstructured and GIS data
* Collaborate with architects and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical platform solutions
* Ensure platform security, performance,reliabilityand data governance standards are met
* Support and guide team members, contributing to delivery planning and technical direction
* Develop andmaintainCI/CD pipelines and promote modern engineering practices
Skills and attributes for success
* Strong experience designing and implementing cloud-based data platforms (Azure,AWSor GCP)
* Experience working with geospatial information systems (GIS) data and associated tooling
* Proficiencyin data platform technologies such as Databricks, Spark, Azure Data Factory, or similar
* Experience with data modelling, integration, and data pipeline development
* Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code and DevOps practices (e.g.Terraform, CI/CD pipelines)
* Strong problem-solving and analytical capability
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders
* Experience contributing to or leading delivery within a team environment
Ideally, you'll also have the skills and attributes below, but don't worry if you don't tick all the boxes. We're interested in your aptitude, attitude and willingness to learn.
* Experience in geospatial analytics platforms, spatial data processing frameworks, andvisualisationtools such as Power BI, Tableau, or GIS-specific platforms.
