What You Will Be Doing
Reporting to the Team Leader Purchasing, you will support Council's procurement activities by delivering purchasing services in a professional, confidential, and compliant manner. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure efficient purchasing processes, strong vendor relationships, and consistent application of procurement policies.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
* Implementing and managing procurement and category strategies to improve efficiency and value for money
* Developing and maintaining strong supplier and vendor relationships, resolving issues as required
* Providing administrative, system and technical purchasing support including quoting, requisitions, purchase orders and receipting
* Delivering high‐quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders
* Ensuring fair, transparent and compliant procurement processes
* Supporting contract reviews and standardised procurement practices across the organisation
* Maintaining accurate records in line with governance and compliance requirements
What You Will Need
* Qualification in procurement, purchasing, or a related discipline and/or relevant experience
* Current C‐Class Driver's Licence
* Demonstrated knowledge of procurement governance and purchasing compliance
* Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
* High attention to detail with a customer‐service mindset
* Sound time management, planning and organisational skills
* Strong analytical and problem‐solving capability
* Ability to use procurement and finance systems including Finance One, VendorPanel, ECM, and MS Office Suite
