Overview
The Lead - Homelessness Program leads high-quality service delivery for homelessness programs in Townsville, including Afterhours outreach, and supervises a team of Case Workers to deliver end-to-end services that promote social inclusion and client choice.
Responsibilities
* Oversee high quality, effective service delivery that ensures the promotion of social inclusion, human rights, participation and consumer choice.
* Lead, coach and mentor a dedicated team of Case Workers with experience of working with people with complex needs and drive continuous improvement to deliver high-quality outcomes for clients.
* Join a supportive, inclusive team with regular training, supervision and opportunities for professional development.
What you will bring
* Well-developed interpersonal skills including excellent communication skills catering for diversity within the team, ability to express ideas clearly, listen effectively and provide constructive feedback.
* Knowledge and/or experience in delivering programs to clients from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
* Relevant degree with experience in social work or community services or equivalent; or less formal qualifications with specialised skills in the relevant field.
* Demonstrated experience in leading a team (desirable).
* Experience within the community care sector (desirable).
* A current Working with Children Check (employee).

Red Cross delivers seven homelessness support programs in Townsville, making Townsville a vital centre for addressing homelessness, providing seamless, end-to-end services. The Afterhours program provides assertive outreach to individuals experiencing homelessness, delivering consistent, relationship-based support through early morning, evening and weekend shifts. A dedicated team engages both existing and potential clients, improving connection to community and reducing social isolation.
