The role Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Finance Manager provides strategic financial leadership and advice to senior leaders and key stakeholders across VicGrid. The role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity and timeliness of the organisation's financial reporting while maintaining compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and the Victorian Government's financial management framework. This position leads the organisation's financial reporting function and delivers strong operational business partnering across VicGrid. The role works closely with the executive and leadership teams to provide clear financial insights, support informed decision-making and strengthen understanding of divisional financial performance, funding requirements and resource planning. What you will deliver Lead the preparation and delivery of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports and statements, ensuring compliance with Australian Accounting Standards, government requirements and internal policies. Manage and guide a high-performing, service-oriented finance team responsible for financial transactions, reporting and monitoring of financial performance. Develop strong working relationships with senior stakeholders across VicGrid, including executives, directors and operational teams, to provide trusted financial advice and support. Establish and manage VicGrid's financing arrangements, including oversight of debt facilities in line with the organisation's legislated borrowing powers. Strengthen financial governance by overseeing reconciliations, financial controls and data integrity to ensure accurate financial records and compliance with the Financial Management Act 1984. Promote and practice cultural safety by fostering environments, relationships and systems that are inclusive, respectful and free from racism and discrimination. What we need Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting or other related discipline is mandatory. Qualified CA or CPA required. Strong financial analysis and variance analysis capabilities. Extensive experience in accounting, tax and financial reporting, including experience with advising and influencing senior leadership teams, internally and externally. A strong understanding of Victorian public sector regulatory reporting requirements.
