Job Title: Cultural Ambassador
About This Role
This is a unique opportunity to join our organisation as a Cultural Ambassador, focusing on representing and advocating for the interests of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Your expertise in engagement with First Nations communities will be crucial in providing high-level advice and direction across our business units.
Main Responsibilities
1. Establish and maintain strong relationships with First Nations people, community organisations, government entities, and other stakeholders using cultural knowledge and connections.
2. Collaborate with internal and external partners and stakeholders to lead and support initiatives delivering quality services to and building relationships with our business units and related stakeholders.
3. Work closely with the Manager (First Nations Engagement) to achieve desired outcomes through the management of key portfolio areas in Indigenous Procurement and workforce initiatives and develop outputs ensuring strategic and operational performance targets are met.
4. Analyse and develop policy, training, and business solutions to support the advancement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
5. Draft internal reports and briefing notes to support decision-making on First Nations matters.
6. Lead and contribute to the efficient and effective delivery of projects and activities through monitoring the program of works, identification, validation, and implementation of business improvement strategies and change initiatives.
Qualifications and Requirements
* A qualification in business, project management, or a related field is highly desirable.
* Experience in a similar role is essential.
* The ability to work with legislation and policy frameworks and prepare complex documents is necessary.
* Recognition and articulation of the interests of Aboriginal peoples and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the ability to consult in accordance with cultural protocols is required.
