Therapeutic Youth Worker Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Therapeutic Youth Worker to join our team. As a Therapeutic Youth Worker, you will provide direct care and mentorship to children and young people aged 12–17.
About the Role
You will be based in Grafton and will work with children and young people who have experienced childhood trauma, abuse, or neglect. You will utilise the Children & Residential Experiences (CARE) and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) frameworks to provide a safe and trusting environment for these young people.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Developing a caring relationship with each young person
* Meeting the day-to-day needs of children and young people, while working within legislative requirements and organisational initiatives
* Providing daily care, supervision, and role modelling
* Facilitating activities that connect the child or young person with their family, community, and culture
* Supporting the child or young person to participate in school, vocational training, or employment
* Effectively advocating for the views of the young people
* Maintaining high-quality record keeping and documentation
You will also be required to work a range of shifts, including afternoons, overnights, and weekends.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A Diploma in Community Services or a related field (or willingness to complete a Diploma offered by us)
* A current Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) certificate
* The ability to clear probity checks, including a National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check
