Reporting into the Safety Marketing Management Team Lead, the new Business Development Manager will be based at our Notting Hill head office in Melbourne and enjoy a flexible, hybrid working approach to work. You will play a pivotal role in driving growth of opportunities for the Safety Division, achieving sales and profit targets, supporting field sales teams, and enabling sales activity by executing strategic initiatives for Draeger. Key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to: Interface with diverse industries on a daily basis such as defence, fire services, and mining; Proactively engage with existing and new customers to generate sales, increase market share, and enhance company awareness; Introduce existing solutions to new markets and new solutions to existing markets; Meet assigned revenue and profitability objectives within the allocated industries; Deliver compelling presentations and product demonstrations to educate and promote Draeger’s value proposition. Improve knowledge of industry trends at trade shows, exhibitions, product training sessions etc.; Design and deliver engaging Go To Market strategies that effectively highlight Draeger’s value proposition; Collaborate with internal stakeholders to enhance customer engagement and pursue opportunities; Liaise with, build, and maintain great relationships with key customers and stakeholders; Monitor market trends and highlight to commercial team members; Maintain timely and high-quality CRM records to aid engagement; Apply a compliance focused mindset across all operations, and; Always ensure a safety-first approach. The ideal candidate will be equipped with the following attributes: Australian Citizenship to meet defence security clearance requirements; Direct experience working in the Defence industry and/or supporting as a supplier (highly desirable); Relevant tertiary qualifications in Marketing or a related discipline; 4 years’ experience in a similar Business Development position; 5 years’ technical sales experience within Safety or a related industry; Background of developing and delivering customer centric propositions; Well versed with translating complex technical topics into clear marketing messages; Ability to develop knowledge of Draeger Safety products, services and their applications; Proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics / CRM and Office Suite; Adaptability and readiness to handle multiple, changing priorities in a fast-paced environment; Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn; Exemplary understanding of compliance rules and ability to act as a role model in upholding and promoting compliance standards, and; Excellent customer focus and strategic thinking, stakeholder management, facilitation, influencing, negotiation, problem solving, analytical, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. A Police Check will be required for this position.
