Role Overview
This position reports to the Head of Internal Audit and focuses on conducting business and technology internal audits, regulatory compliance reviews, project assurance reviews, and targeted risk reviews across all AMP portfolios. The role supports Internal Audit's purpose of being a catalyst for improvement in the governance, risk, and control environment.
Responsibilities
* Execute internal audits aligned with the Internal Audit vision, delivering timely and insightful advice to drive continuous improvement.
* Engage with key business stakeholders to agree on observations, develop and maintain regular relationships, and validate issues within the audit portfolio.
* Identify business risks, define audit scope, and determine resource requirements during engagement planning.
* Develop and implement a risk‐based audit program to address key issues across AMP businesses.
* Prepare high‐quality work papers with appropriate evidence and testing to support findings.
* Present audit results confidently at stakeholder exit meetings and ensure credible advice rooted in strong business insights and risk‐management assurance.
* Foster a positive and collaborative mindset to enhance the Internal Audit brand and promote a continuous improvement mindset within the team.
Qualifications
* Ideally 5 years of internal audit or assurance experience with a proven capability to add value and provide insights.
* Understanding of the Australian and New Zealand financial services industry and its regulatory regime.
* Currently holds or actively pursues a recognised internal audit qualification or membership.
Desired Experience & Skills
* Demonstrated experience building and sustaining effective relationships with stakeholders at various levels.
* Strong communication skills to navigate diverse environments and influence outcomes.
* Experience in data governance, privacy, and knowledge of risk‐management frameworks such as CPS 220 and CPS 230.
* Familiarity with prudential and regulatory compliance assurance, product design and distribution, and complaints handling.
* Technical expertise in Wealth Management, Retail Banking, and Technology/Cyber Security is highly valued.
