37.5 hours per week
Salary commensurate with experience $29.74 per hour to $32.61 per hour plus 25% casual loading and superannuation
About the role
We have an excellent opportunity for a casual Receptionist/Admin Assistant to join our team at the Aboriginal Legal Service of Western Australia (ALSWA), Broome.
As the Admin Assistant, you will need good communication skills, be well organised, self-motivated, have a demonstrated ability to be responsible to ensure the smooth operation of client services and above all, be punctual and committed to the role.
A sound knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture, society and the issues affecting Aboriginal people is required.
Responsibilities
* Answer incoming telephone calls and obtain adequate information to re-direct calls to appropriate person.
* Receive clients and general public and ascertain details in relation to their attendance in order to direct them to the appropriate unit.
* Attend to incoming materials including recording the details in appropriate databases and advise relevant staff of their receipt.
* Maintain journals of incoming documents and videos.
* Arrange for urgent documents to be collected and delivered by courier services when required.
* Data entry when requested.
About you
To be considered for this position you will need to demonstrate the following experience:
* Experience in receptionist duties and file management is preferable.
* Ability and commitment to working independently or as part of a team.
* Good communications skills, both written and verbal.
* Experience in the use of Microsoft Windows applications, and database entry.
* Good organisational and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality.
