Job Title: Respiratory Care Specialist
About the Role:
* This is a temporary part-time position working 20 hours per week, up to January 2027.
* The role is open to everyone, and applicants must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
* Applicants must have at least 3 years of full-time equivalent post-registration experience and demonstrated competence in nursing practice.
* They should also have effective communication skills, including problem-solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills.
About the Team:
The Eyre and Far North Local Health Network covers almost 440,000 square kilometers of South Australia, supporting around 40,000 people.
The region offers a Mediterranean-style climate, with plenty of opportunities to enjoy outdoor activities like surfing, fishing, hiking, and exploring the outback.
Key Responsibilities:
* Reduce emergency department presentations and hospital admissions for clients with respiratory conditions.
* Reduce length of stay for patients with respiratory illness admitted to EFNLHN hospitals.
* Timely transfer of respiratory patients from Metropolitan health services to their community or residence.
* Facilitate effective use of health services by vulnerable groups.
* Supporting the education, self-management, and rehabilitation of participants to best manage their health condition.
* Delivery of SA Health Home Oxygen Program, including assessment, care planning, evaluation, and review.
