Job Description

Responsibilities
1. Read blueprints/instructions, examine, and understand surfaces to determine the kind and amount of work necessary.
2. Make work preparation such as scaffolding, covering fixtures.
3. Responsible for mixing, matching, applying paint to various surfaces, and completing touch-ups.
4. Understand and complete works to specifications.
5. Mix correct ratio two-part paint coatings, etc.
6. Proper appropriation of consumables and materials to avoid wastage.
7. Select paints, varnishes and stains for various surfaces using brushes, sprays, and rollers.
8. Use Wet Film Thickness Gauges to achieve specified dry film thickness.
9. Carry out minor repairs as deemed necessary.
10. Use different tools and brushes to apply paints with attention to detail.
11. Work at heights and in confined spaces. Erect scaffolding and ladders.
12. Clean equipment and work areas.
13. Support other team members to ensure completion of projects on time and in accordance to specification.
Qualifications
14. Trade Certificate – Certificate III in Surface Preparation or equivalent for Blaster/Painters.
15. High Risk Licence for EWP and/or Forklift.
16. Trade Qualifications in Protective Coatings (ACA, NACE, ICorr, or other trade certs).
17. HR licence, high risk licence with EWP and Forklift Drivers Licence (MR or HR class).
18. Ability to work well independently and in a team environment.
19. Ability to meet strict deadlines.
20. Strong communication skills.
21. Keen attention to detail.
22. Self-motivated, organised, punctual and reliable.
23. Great work ethics.
Salary: Between $75,000 and $80,000 per annum + Super
