About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our integrated centre in Canberra on a full-time or part-time basis Monday to Friday. The successful candidate will report to the Nurse Manager and be responsible for delivering exceptional personalised cancer care to patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
* Medication Management: Monitor and administer medication and intravenous infusions to patients according to their treatment plans.
* Patient Assessment and Education: Conduct thorough assessments, observe patient responses, and provide education on their condition, treatment options, and self-care techniques.
* Procedural Support: Assist doctors with procedures, provide pre- and post-procedure care, and educate patients on their treatment and recovery.
* Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient interactions, treatments, and outcomes.
* Emotional Support: Provide emotional support to patients, families, and carers during their cancer journey.
About You:
To succeed in this role, you will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work effectively within a team environment, and have a strong commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Current Registration: Hold current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Oncology Nursing Experience: Possess knowledge and experience in oncology nursing, preferably in a high-acuity setting.
* Advanced Communication Skills: Demonstrate advanced communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
* Teamwork and Adaptability: Be able to work successfully within a team structure and adapt to changing priorities and circumstances.
* Computer Literacy: Possess basic computer skills and ability to navigate electronic health records and other relevant systems.
