About the role 
About the role: The Main Roads Network Operations Directorate focuses on ensuring that all road users in the metropolitan state road network experience reliable journeys. The Operational Modelling and Visualisation (OVM) team is the operational modelling centre of excellence in Western Australia and contributes to this outcome by ensuring a high standard of modelling is conducted for transport performance management and decision making. 
Reporting to the Operational Modelling and Visualisation Manager, this role is responsible for developing and coordinating operational traffic and simulation models using a variety of suitable platforms, to optimise performance and analyse and report on traffic impacts on the road network.

- Play a key role in developing and managing traffic models that support scenario testing and real-time operational decision-making 
- Provide critical traffic modelling services across the organisation and wider transport portfolio

- Contribute to a team focused on innovation and automation in modelling practices 
- Bring your project mindset – from concept through to execution – into transport modelling 
- Experience in Vissim, Visum, Aimsun, LinSig and SIDRA is required
