Job Title: Graduate Geotechnical Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Geotechnical Professional to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Work under the guidance of a Senior Geotechnical Engineer.
* Develop an understanding of procedures in respect to ground stability/ground monitoring/control, and mine infrastructure.
* Undertake various underground and open pit geotechnical field work tasks, including core logging, sample collection and preparation.
* Conduct geotechnical data collection and analysis for ground support and stope design criteria.
* Document the behaviors of rock masses, along with quality control and quality assurance measures, for performance evaluation.
* Follow up on Rock Noise reports and communicate promptly.
* Conduct Monthly Ground Support Audits, providing methods for addressing key concerns.
* Ensure that all geotechnical-related data and information are methodically archived and stored in a manner that makes them accessible.
* Measure and visually assess the stability of the key pillars in the mine.
* Contribute to the numerical model for the underground workings to support mining activities.
* Assist in training underground crews on the importance of ground support and 'reading the ground'.
* Provide Geotechnical data and information for EOM Reports.
* Ensure that all geotechnical equipment is maintained and functional.
Requirements:
* Bachelor of Engineering or Science with a Geotechnical specialisation.
* Understanding of statutory requirements, as well as Work Health and Safety (WHS) Act.
* Excellent communication, organisational and time management skills.
* Ability to learn appropriate mining software packages and tools.
* Hold a current WA Driver's License.
