The opportunity: We have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join our team at the Icon Cancer Centre Windsor Gardens, with the opportunity for nursing across our radiation and medical oncology/haematology departments. This position will report to the Nurse Manager and will focus on the delivery of exceptional personalised cancer care to patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
* Contribute expert advice and demonstrate contemporary nursing knowledge and skill in oncology nursing practice in accordance with current legislation and professional standards and codes of practice
* Monitoring and administering medication and intravenous anticancer infusions
* Patient assessment, observation, and education including expert management of treatment-related side effects
* Inserting and caring for peripheral and central access devices
* Assisting doctors with procedures and providing pre- and post-procedure care and education
* Maintaining and updating patients' written and electronic records
* Providing emotional support to patients, families, and carers
* Supporting the Nurse Manager in the day-to-day operations
* Supporting a high-performance culture that delivers quality patient care services through a patient-centric and collaborative approach
About you: To ensure our cancer centre at Windsor Gardens delivers an exceptional experience for patients, their families, doctors, and staff, we are seeking a candidate who consistently demonstrates values aligned with those of the organization, has flexibility, and a 'can-do' attitude. Experience in IV cannulation, knowledge of chemotherapy, and supportive therapies is required.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
* Within Medical Oncology, this position involves the administration of chemotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy, and related blood and supportive treatments. Within Radiation Oncology, this position involves proactive nursing care to support patients through their treatment. If cross-skilled, there will be potential opportunities to work across both departments.
* 2 years recent experience in medical oncology/haematology and/or radiation oncology nursing (desirable only)
* Current AHPRA registration
* Demonstrate a commitment to the provision of exceptional patient-centered care
* Advanced communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work autonomously and positively as a member of the multidisciplinary team
* Must be vaccinated against Covid-19 with a vaccine approved by the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation

* 14-chair day oncology hospital, offering chemotherapy, targeted therapies, and immunotherapy
* Scalp cooling system – Cooling cap available to help reduce hair loss during chemotherapy treatment
* Radiation Therapy treatments using our state-of-the-art linear accelerator and superficial skin X-ray machine
* Treatment for malignant and non-malignant blood disorders, including administration of supportive therapies and blood products such as hormone treatments, bisphosphonates, and iron infusions
* Minor procedures for diagnostic and prognostic purposes
* Access to clinical trials
