South Gippsland Shire Council is a progressive organisation located in Victoria's south-east, home to connected rural communities, rolling farmland, and stunning coastlines. With a clear focus on high performance, customer service and organisational renewal, Council is building a leadership team that will shape its future and deliver outcomes that matter to its community.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Executive Manager Culture & Capability is a newly created role with a broad and strategically important portfolio including People & Culture, Digital & Technology, Customer Experience, and Service Reviews. You will play a central role in building organisational capability, strengthening business partnering, and embedding a culture that reflects Council's values of collaboration, accountability and service.
You will lead transformation through practical, "bite-sized" improvements, simplifying systems and processes, uplifting customer experience, and ensuring technology and people strategies are aligned. As part of the Executive Leadership Team, you will provide enterprise-wide leadership, partner with colleagues to deliver the Council Plan, and bring energy, visibility and integrity to organisational change.
To succeed in this role, you will be an innovative leader with a track record in people, culture, technology or organisation-wide improvement, ideally gained within local government or an aligned sector. You will bring strong business partnering skills, the ability to engage with leaders at all levels, and the judgment to stage change in a sustainable way. An HR foundation is advantageous but not essential, your capability to deliver cultural and digital transformation is what matters most.
This is a unique opportunity to join a progressive Executive team and shape the systems, culture and capability that underpin organisational success.
