Our client is seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Planning and Assessment Officer to join their team on a temporary 6-month basis. About the Role
As a Planning and Assessment Officer, you will support the assessment and review of a wide range of applications, referrals, and general planning enquiries. These submissions come from applicants, Local Governments, and other key stakeholders.
You'll use a variety of internal systems and information sources to research, analyse and prepare high‑quality responses that ensure planning and network requirements are met.
Key Responsibilities
* Assess, review, and respond to planning applications and referrals
* Provide clear, informed advice on planning-related enquiries
* Undertake detailed research and analysis using multiple systems and datasets
* Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
* Contribute to continuous improvement of assessment processes
Essential Skills & Experience
We're looking for candidates who can demonstrate:
* Strong research, analysis, and problem‑solving capabilities
* Ability to build and enhance stakeholder relationships
* Understanding of traffic and transport planning policies and relevant systems
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
* Working towards or completion of a Diploma in Engineering, Planning, or a related discipline
* Previous public sector experience
