About The Role
Are you a Qualified Motor Mechanic keen to secure an opportunity to carry out preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance and approved modifications in a clean environment to well‐maintained CFA appliances? This full‐time role will see you work in our Bendigo workshop base and across Northwest Victoria from 7:15 am to 4:15 pm, Monday to Friday. All tools and equipment are supplied, including uniform and PPE.
After 3 months, the successful candidate may progress from DMO Grade 1a to DMO Grade 1.1 and the salary will increase to $79,178 (plus allowances: availability, field, first aid, supervision, if qualified).
Responsibilities
* Under the direction of the workshop OIC, carry out preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance and approved modifications to fleet assets.
* Ensure fleet assets are maintained in accordance with appropriate industry standards and CFA maintenance procedures.
* Maintain accurate records and documentation on work performed.
* Create electronic work orders utilising CFA software.
* Coordinate with Brigade members regarding proposed work and work performed.
* Report to the Officer‐in‐Charge on maintenance, administrative and technical matters.
* Ensure that Industrial Safety Standards are observed.
About You (Qualifications)
* Motor Mechanic qualification.
* Hold a Heavy Rigid Driver Licence (available to obtain within the timeframes set out by CFA if not already held).
* Have skills and ability to maintain safety at an Incident Scene and render assistance to others (First Aid Level 2, obtainable within CFA timeframes if not already held).
* Proven ability to work as part of a team and actively participate in team discussions.
* Effective verbal and written communication skills.
* Proactive and energetic attitude with the initiative to seek tasks and challenges.
