Maintenance Fitter – Food Manufacturing (New Site)
Smithfield • Afternoon Shift - 2:00pm – 10:00pm • $120,000 + Super
Are you an experienced Maintenance Fitter looking for a fresh opportunity in a new, state-of-the-art facility? We're working with a leading food manufacturer that has recently launched a new site and is building a strong, reliable maintenance team. This is your chance to get in early, work on modern equipment, and play a key role in setting the standards across the site.
The Role
Reporting into the Engineering Manager, you'll be responsible for keeping production running efficiently through proactive and reactive maintenance.
* Carrying out mechanical maintenance, breakdowns, and fault finding on production machinery
* Performing preventative maintenance to minimise downtime
* Working on conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, packaging machinery, and processing equipment
* Identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives
* Assisting with installations, commissioning, and upgrades of new machinery
* Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with food manufacturing standards
About You
* Trade qualification as a Fitter / Mechanical Trade
* Proven experience in food, FMCG, or packaging manufacturing environments
* Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
* Experience working in fast-paced production environments
* A proactive approach with a strong focus on reliability and safety
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
