Your new role
As the QSMS Senior Leader, you will manage and advance safety and quality standards, actively engaging stakeholders to promote your commitment to delivering safe and quality products and services. You will evolve the Quality Management System (QMS) and Safety Management Systems (SMS) within both sustainment services and production.
Important: Your leadership will be crucial in integrating these systems into a single, cohesive QSMS.
This senior role is ideal for an experienced leader who can navigate a complex, highly technical, innovative, and regulated environment. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Operations Integration, the role is ideally based in Brisbane, though alternative locations may be considered for suitable candidates.
Key Responsibilities
* Interpret business requirements and apply legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures to enhance quality standards across sustainment services and production.
* Lead the development of an integrated QSMS, ensuring it meets stakeholder requirements and relevant standards.
* Promote a culture of safety and quality, leading by example and fostering continuous improvement, open communication, and collaboration.
* Empower a team of safety and quality specialists to drive excellence.
* Communicate complex concepts to stakeholders, including updates to senior leadership on quality and safety matters, trends, and analysis.
What you'll need to succeed
* Solid experience in a leadership role within Quality and Safety in the defence industry and/or aviation.
* Demonstrable experience in continuous improvement and/or project management.
* Initiative and critical systems thinking to deliver integrated solutions to complex problems.
* Experience in both safety and quality systems management with the capability to integrate both the safety and quality systems.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to develop and manage effective stakeholder relationships.
* Australian citizenship and eligibility for a Defence Security clearance with the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency, and clearance for International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
