About Us

The Coral Bell School of Asia Pacific Affairs (Bell School) is a world-leading centre for research, education, and policy analysis on international and Asia Pacific politics, security, diplomacy, and strategic affairs. The School comprises a number of vibrant, interdisciplinary, intellectual communities: the Department of International Relations, the Strategic and Defence Studies Centre, the Department of Political and Social Change, and the Department of Pacific Affairs.
The ANU Philippines Institute serves as the University's academic hub for Philippines research and engagement activities.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to contribute to the ANU Philippines Project, which aims to build stronger research partnerships between Australia and the Philippines, and to provide policymakers in both countries with greater access to relevant, high quality policy research and analysis.
The Postdoctoral Fellow will report to the Director of the Philippines Institute and work collaboratively with colleagues across CAP and ANU.
In this role you will conduct independent research of relevance to the ANU Philippines Project, producing or contributing to the production of conference/seminar papers, policy briefs and academic publications. You will also be actively involved in the governance and strategic planning activities of the ANU Philippines Institute and both coordinate and participate in Institute conferences, seminars and events.
The position is funded by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), Australian Government. In this role you will be expected to engage actively with DFAT and other external stakeholders.
Our Ideal Candidate
Our ideal candidate will have completed a PhD on the Philippines in the fields of International Relations and/or Political Science, and be able to teach in areas relevant to Peace and Conflict Studies in particular.
