Job Title: Power System Engineer
ElectraNet is seeking a forward-thinking Power System Engineer to join our team.
Job Description:
We are looking for a skilled Power System Engineer who can contribute to long-term planning and performance of the transmission network. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years experience in a discipline related role, a tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, and eligibility for membership with Engineers Australia.
* Contribute to long-term planning and performance of the transmission network.
* Evaluate customer connection proposals and negotiate performance standards.
* Develop and maintain power system models to support secure and operable system performance.
* Support system capability and security analysis, operational planning, and equipment rating assessments.
* Support preparation of planning reports including inputs for the Transmission Annual Planning Report.
* Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders such as AEMO, SAPN, and ESCOSA.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Strong understanding of transmission system reliability, substation components, and operational performance.
* Experience with power system modeling tools such as PSS/E, PSCAD, PowerFactory, and PLEXOS.
* Well-developed analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
* A collaborative mindset and commitment to safety-first practices.
