The Palliative Care Service at Mackay Base Hospital is seeking a Clinical Nurse to join the team on a temporary basis.
Responsibilities
* Provide clinical leadership and expertise at an advanced nursing practice level for the provision and coordination of evidence‐based person-centred care in accordance with organisational goals for a defined clinical area or speciality.
* Employ advanced clinical and professional practice capabilities to deliver a positive patient‐centred health experience for individuals and their support persons.
* Work closely with other members of the MHHS SPCS team sharing client load.
Qualifications
* Experienced nurse with advanced clinical knowledge and an in-depth understanding of Palliative Care, symptom management, and end‐of‐life care planning.

The MHHS Specialist Palliative Care Service (SPCS) aims to improve the quality of life for patients and families facing life‐limiting illness. The service provides holistic patient‐centred care across the continuum, specialist palliative care for patients irrespective of diagnosis, addresses needs throughout the illness trajectory, and offers multidisciplinary care efficiently.
* Provide holistic patient‐centred care for patients with life‐limiting illness across the care continuum.
* Provide specialist palliative care that is needs‐based regardless of diagnosis or prognosis.
* Address specialist palliative care needs of patients and families for the duration of their illness trajectory.
* Provide multidisciplinary care reliably and efficiently.
