Overview
We are partnering with a high-performing growth equity platform seeking an Origination Associate / Manager to work closely with a senior Investment Director.
This is a front-end, deal creation role focused on sourcing and developing investment opportunities, combined with the ability to pressure-test opportunities through scenario modelling.
This is not a traditional investment team role—it sits between origination, strategy, and commercial evaluation.
The Role
You will act as the pipeline engine, responsible for generating and shaping new opportunities, while supporting the Investment Director in assessing their commercial potential.
The role suits someone who is both:
* A natural originator / relationship builder, and
* Comfortable using scenario-based financial thinking to validate opportunities
Key Responsibilitieas
Origination & Deal Sourcing
* Proactively source new investment opportunities across target sectors
* Build a network of founders, advisors, and intermediaries
* Lead outbound origination efforts (cold outreach, thematic mapping, relationship building)
* Position the fund as a credible and value-add partner to founders
Opportunity Development
* Act as the first screen on opportunities—assess quality, growth potential, and strategic fit
* Engage with founders to shape investment opportunities and entry angles
* Help translate early conversations into tangible deal pathways
* Pressure-test assumptions and frame commercial upside / risk
* Support the creation of clear, concise internal investment narratives
* Focus on decision-enabling analysis, not full underwriting or deep IC modelling
Internal Collaboration
* Work alongside the investment team to transition opportunities into formal processes
* Contribute to pipeline tracking, sector mapping, and thematic origination strategies
Candidate Profile
Background
* 3–7 years’ experience in investment banking, consulting, corporate development, or investing
Skillset
* Strong origination instincts and relationship-building ability
* Comfortable with scenario modelling and commercial analysis (not heavy execution modelling)
* Ability to simplify complex opportunities into clear investment cases
* Excellent communication and founder-facing skills
