Payroll Officer - Contract (0.8 FTE)

About the role
The role focuses on BAU payroll delivery within a complex, enterprise environment with multiple Enterprise Agreements. There is an intention to recruit permanently in around six months, and the successful contractor will be encouraged to apply if interested.
Key responsibilities
* BAU payroll processing as part of a shared payroll team
* Supporting fortnightly payroll runs across two entities
* Interpreting and applying Enterprise Agreements
* Processing leave, superannuation, PAYG tax, and terminations
* Responding to payroll queries from employees and stakeholders
* Supporting reconciliations, audits, and compliance activities
* Working closely with HR, Finance, and remuneration stakeholders
Skills & experience
* Proven experience as a Payroll Officer in a medium to large organisation
* Strong Enterprise Agreement interpretation experience
* Experience with Chris21 preferred (or similar enterprise payroll systems)
* Ability to meet strict payroll deadlines with high attention to detail
* Confident communicator able to work across payroll, HR, and finance
Working arrangements
* 0.8 FTE (30.4 hours per week)
* Flexible setup: 4 days, or 5 days spread across the week
* Preference for availability earlier in the week due to Tuesday pay runs
* Hybrid role with approximately 60% onsite (2-3 days per week)
* Preference for candidates based in Geelong or the Western Corridor
