About us
The Central Queensland Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drugs Service provides specialist mental health, substance, and alcohol related care to the residents of Rockhampton, Capricorn Coast, Gladstone, Central Highlands, and Banana areas (catchments in excess of a population of 250,000) with services located in each area. Rockhampton is the principal service centre and as such provides the administration of the Mental Health Act, 2016, in addition being the location of Acute Adult Inpatient facilities and an Adult Community Care Unit.
The Central Queensland Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Services works in collaboration with the local hospitals, other mental health and alcohol and other drugs teams, as well as primary health, community, and private sector providers to reduce the symptoms of mental illness and facilitate recovery.
About the role
The Court Liaison Service (CLS) provides mental health assessment and diversion or referral for people appearing before the Magistrates' court or detained in the local watch house. The purpose of this service is the early identification of people with a mental illness to facilitate access to appropriate mental health treatment, referral, or advice.
About you
Must hold one of the following:
* Registered Nurse: Must possess a Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with a current annual nursing practicing certificate Division one (1) is essential.
* Social Work: The successful applicant must hold at least a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification from an accredited tertiary institution in Social Work as well as eligibility for full membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). While not mandatory, status as an AASW accreditation Mental Health Social Worker is highly regarded.
* Occupational Therapy: The successful applicant must hold a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification from an accredited tertiary institution in Occupational Therapy and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency with a current annual practicing certificate (mandatory)
* Psychology: The successful applicant must possess a four-year degree in Psychology (Honours, Graduate Diploma) from an accredited tertiary institution and full registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency with a current annual practicing certificate.
What we offer
Total remuneration value of up to $13,684 p.m. is comprised of:
* An hourly rate between $66.85 - $72.58 p.h.
