As we accelerate our expansion across Australia in partnership with Frasers Group, we are opening a significant number of new stores and we need a Visual Merchandising (VM) Specialist who can bring our bold, high-volume retail concept to life on the ground.

You’ll be the architect of our in-store look and feel translating global VM directives into locally relevant, high-impact retail environments.
You’ll develop guidelines, planning campaigns, and coordinating execution but you’ll also be in stores, supporting launches, coaching teams, and ensuring every location is visually sharp and commercially ready to trade.
What You’ll Be Doing
New Store Openings & Projects
* Lead the visual merchandising execution for a growing pipeline of new Sports Direct stores nationwide.
* Collaborate with retail and project teams on space planning, fixture selection, and customer flow.
* Be on-site during setup weeks to ensure stores are visually and operationally “trade ready.”
* Support and train store teams during launch to embed best practice from day one.
VM Strategy & Directive Management
* Adapt global VM direction from Frasers Group (UK) for the Australian market.
* Develop clear weekly and seasonal VM briefs, planograms, and execution guides.
* Define and evolve the “Sports Direct Standard” across floor density, wall merchandising, and fixture usage.
* Translate marketing strategy into simple, actionable direction for store teams.
In-Store Marketing & Campaign Execution
* Bring key retail moments—Back to School, Black Friday, product launches—to life in-store.
* Manage POS and signage from concept to rollout, ensuring consistency and impact.
* Collaborate with major brand partners (Nike, Adidas, Puma and more) to deliver compelling branded environments aligned to both global standards and commercial goals.
Field Support & Training
* Conduct regular store visits to audit execution, support floor moves, and assist during peak periods.
* Coach Store Managers and teams on VM fundamentals to maintain excellence every day.
* Oversee remote auditing processes and provide practical feedback to drive consistency.
What We’re Looking For
* 2–4 years’ experience in Visual Merchandising, ideally in a Head Office or Area/State role.
* Proven involvement in new store openings or large-scale retail setups.
* A strong commercial mindset - you understand VM is about driving sales, not just aesthetics.
* Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with shifting priorities.
* Confident communicator who can influence stakeholders and train store teams effectively.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint); experience with Adobe Creative Suite or Canva highly regarded.
* A hands-on approach with the flexibility to travel domestically as required.
